Hi!
My name is Elena Delgado, and I'm from Northwestern Oregon.
I wrote my first book when I was four (All About Leaves, made of printer paper, with various leaf specimens from my yard taped in.) and have continued writing ever since.
My parents came from Mexico and immigrated here in the early 2000s, so I grew up with both cultures. The concepts of splintered identities and the meaning of belonging make their way into my writing sometimes.
I have always been a curious person, and I love to learn. I speak Spanish, English, and have been studying Italian for a few years as well.
My other hobbies include swimming, drawing, birding, and playing tenor and baritone saxophone.
